El-shadai children

The EL–Shadai Children’s Home at Kazhipattur presently has Thirty Eight children and eleven staff. The beaming, joyful faces of children cherishing their childhood days are in marked contrast with the physical torment, sexual abuse, starvation and the sicknesses from which they were rescued.

These young people are the future of the nation. Sadly, however, girls and handicapped are often shown neglected and may be disregarded, discarded and dumped into garbage bins or exploited for begging, prostitution, pornography, physical abuse, torture and bonded labor. There are many such children in India who are in urgent need of food, clothing, shelter, education and, most of all, the warmth of genuine love and care.

The ‘EL – Shadai Charitable trust’ has resolved to step in to try and change this gloomy, desperate and distressing scenario into a bright, hopeful and joyous one.

Out of 38 children 14 are girls.

The Founder and Managing Trustee Mr. E. Joseph Paul and his wife Mrs. Lydia are staying with the children in the home and take care of them.

Future needs consist of an additional three acres of land and the construction of other buildings to provide primary health care, a medical dispensary, a middle school, a Bible College

A  rehabilitation center for addicts, ex-prostitutes and other stigmatized persons, a Training Center for conducting workshops, seminars, vocational and social work courses and a Youth Counseling Center for outreach work: all along with a proper Security Block for the campus.

We ask you to pray for the children, staff and the Managing Trustee of the home and for the extension program of the home.  May God bless you all.
