‘EL–Shadai Charitable Trust’ is called to work for the upliftment and rehabilitation of millions of down trodden, destitute children by providing them good shelter, education, food and clothes and to rear them up as useful citizens of the nation by showering an abundance of love and care on a personal level by witnessing and to serve the orphaned with a great love of God to be a beacon of hope to the hopeless, love to the unloved and joy to the joyless irrespective of colour, caste, religion, sex or creed.

EL–Shadai - love to the unloved, hope to the hopeless & joy to the joyless.

  • The El-Shadai Children Home was started on 31st May 1997 to benefit the people of India irrespective of caste, creed, community or religion and, specifically, to support lonely or deserted children.   El-Shadai Charitable Trust:  The trust is a public charitable trust formed with seven trustees and registered under Indian Trust Act and the registration Number is 55/99/Bk.4 dated 10.02.1999 and registered at the Office of the Sub-Registrar, Neelankarai, Chennai on 10.02.1999.

The Trust is duly registered under section 12A(a) of the Income Tax Act, 1961 and the Registration number allotted to the Trust by the Commissioner of Income Tax, Tamilnadu V, Chennai in his letter No. C. No. 2039 (137)/98-99TN-V dated 20 th July 1999 is 36/1999-2000.  Permanent Account Number (PAN) of the Trust is AAATE0815H.

Approval under Section 80G was granted to the Trust in respect of donations received for the Trust by the Income Tax Officer, ( H.Qrs) (Exemptions), Chennai-34 in his letter No. DIT (E) No. 2039 (137)/98-99 dated 25.05.2001.

Our home is situated 500 meters from the main road called the I.T. High Way near Kazhipattur Village behind Anand Institute of Higher Technology. The building structure consists of a dormitory block and kitchen block for the students and a residential block to the staff.

The EL–Shadai Children's Home at Kazhipattur presently has fifty-three children and six staff. The beaming, joyful faces of children cherishing their childhood days are in marked contrast with the physical torment, sexual abuse, starvation and the sicknesses from which they were rescued.

These young people are the future of the nation. Sadly, however, girls and handicapped are often shown neglected and may be disregarded, discarded and dumped into garbage bins or exploited for begging, prostitution, pornography, physical abuse, torture and bonded labor. There are many such children in India who are in urgent need of food, clothing, shelter, education and, most of all, the warmth of genuine love and care.

The 'EL – Shadai charitable trust' has resolved to step in to try and change this gloomy, desperate and distressing scenario into a bright, hopeful and joyous one.

Out of 53 children 20 are girls.

The Founder and Managing Trustee Mr. E. Joseph Paul and his wife Mrs. Lydia are staying with the children in the home and take care of them.

Future needs consist of an additional three acres of land and the construction of other buildings to provide primary health care, a medical dispensary, a middle school, a Bible College and a separate Administration Block with facility to accommodate visiting donors and well wishers. Additionally, the Trust hopes to provide a home for senior citizens, a rehabilitation center for addicts, ex-prostitutes and other stigmatized persons, a Training Center for conducting workshops, seminars, vocational and social work courses and a Youth Counseling Center for outreach work: all along with a proper Security Block for the campus.

We ask you to pray for the children, staff and the Managing Trustee of the home and for the extension program of the home.  May God bless you all.

    E. Joseph & Lydia Paul
